history

It was a lovely day in July 2001, the sun was shining, the birds were singing and Jesse (who happens to be me) was cruising around the internet when she eventually found the tvtalkshows.com message boards. There she met Matt, who had been around the boards for years (because the poor kid didn't have a home); SusanB, who had been there for like a year and a Late Show fan since the show aired for the very first time in 18… no I mean 1982; and Letterfan, who had been hanging out there ever since he's had this little alcohol problem…

From now on there was no day when Jesse, Matt, SusanB and Letterfan weren't cluttering up the boards with their pointless comments. The four of us became friends.

So one day SusanB (she must have been bored that day) suggested that Matt could "shortly fill us in about what happened on the Late Show every day", so she wouldn't miss anything when she couldn't watch the show. She also suggested the name "Woo Hoo!!! Gazette" because due to a speech defect Matt always used the expression "Woo Hoo"  to express that he's gotta go to the bathroom. The cool side effect is that it's a funny spin off name from the "Wahoo Gazette". Matt wasn't able to write it though, because the rules in jail are very strict… (no, actually he didn't have enough time because of school) So Letterfan decided to take over the job. From now on he supplied us with a summary of last night's Late Show every day, developed his writing skills and eventually made it to get off the street. The days he wasn't able to do the Gazette SusanB would fill in for him.

Some weeks later Kath arrived at the boards and wanted to join us. She actually had to take some life-threatening dares before we let her join. Now the "Woo Hoo Gang" was complete. We came up with the idea to build our own site because we wanted to have a chat room where we could meet, besides we wanted to have an archive for our Woo Hoo!! Gazettes.

So the diligent Matt started to build the site. It was gonna be a David Letterman fan page, of course. Then we moved to our own forum. We're still getting those "Spank you very much!"-cards from the other people on the tvtalkshows.com-Dave-board because they are so happy that we aren't haunting the boards anymore…And that is how we got together.

No, actually it's all lies, we're just 5 lunatics who are locked in the same cell, I just thought this story sounds better.
