IS DADDY PAST IT?

There has been quite a bit of talk in the alt.fan.letterman newsgroup (you know the place where everyone is a comedian) lately about the Big Show and how the show is no where as good as it used to be, so I thought I would dissect the show and prove how ignorant some of you can be.

The Opening Monologue

OK it's not the strongest part of the show but who is better? Jay? I think not! Apart from the fact it goes for like 20 minutes, it's just not funny, and with that bandleader of his pretending to laugh at every joke just makes me sick. How about Conan then? Nope, easily the worst but at least it's short, and those ad-libs of his, the same ad-libs every damn night, a woman screams "I love you Conan" Conan then replies "Thank you sir" boy that is solid comedy. So Dave's may not be hilarious but it is funny and does not go for an eternity like that half-wit Leno.

At The Desk

This is where Dave excels, when he is just being himself and talking about something that has happened to him during the day, totally unscripted and hilarious, this is what makes the show. Very few talk show hosts just sit at the desk and talk without a script, they prefer to just go right into their lame comedy pieces. And Leno, well you will never see him sit back and talk, every bit of comedy in that show is scripted, and boring.

The Writers

While sometimes it does seem like Dave's writers only work two days a week, they do have some really good stuff on occasions, Conan's writers are either very hot or very cold, and Jay's, well I think I have established that they are just a bunch of pear shaped losers.

The Interviews

This is where Dave proves himself to be the best in the world; Dave can make any interview with anybody funny. He does not get the biggest stars like Leno, (Leno is in Hollywood where most of the stars live) but he doesn't need them, he has an incredibly quick wit that serves him well with any guest.

So there you have it, David Letterman is truly the King of Late Night, and to all you people that keep complaining that Dave and his show is getting worse and worse, well just stop tuning in, watch Leno, an we will all mourn for you when die of boredom.
