CHAPTER TEN:
FOX'S TURN
The Fox approach was
full speed ahead. Fox sent all of thier Top Executives
Add to that , Fox sent a "personal friend" of
Dave's (Stu Smiley) to the meeting that just happen to
work for Fox at the time. Ok folks - get your minds out
of the gutter (Ha-ha!) - I did not say a "personal
escort". (Ha-ha!) And there was no "casting
couch' either. Darn! (ha, ha but- it would have been a
lot jucier if there was one). I said a personal friend
(ha, ha). You guys are bad! (ha, ha)
Fox's advantages were as follows:
¤ The young viewing audience
¤ They were creative and willing to try out new formats
¤ Dave could choose the time he wanted the show to air
I am sure that Dave was intrigued, but he had more offers
ahead. Dave would wait until he had all of his facts
lined up before making such a difficult decision.
